This volume contains papers presented in a two-day national seminar on ‘Oral Literature of North-East India with Special Reference to Arunachal Pradesh’, sponsored by Sahitya Academy, Baroda and organised by the Department of Tribal Studies, Arunachal University. A few valuable papers are also incorporated to make the volume more comprehensive. In fact, the present volume is an addition to the ongoing process of exploring folklore repertoire from north-east India. Most of the papers are related to the states like Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya though a few of them deal with the north-east in general. Undoubtedly, this volume will be of immense interest to scholars, students, teachers, etc., and those who are really concerned with the vast treasure of oral literature of the people of north-east India.
