Much has been written by scholars, in India and Canada about the bondage between these two countries. However, very little literature showing the comparative picture of India and Canada is available and as such, very little is known to many people about these two counties and their people. In spite of old relationship between India and Canada, there is still scope for developing Indo-Canadian relationship in times to come. For this, suitable climate has to be created. This is not a simple task. The relationships cannot be strengthened by high officials visits. There is need for continuous research in socio-economic and political areas by the social scientists. This book is an outcome of the collective endeavour of the scholars of Indian Association for Canadian Studies. It contains articles on socio-economic and political aspects concerning these two countries in the era of liberalization, privatization and globalization. The contributors have tried to highlight the relationship between India and Canada during past and present and what would be the relationship between these two countries in future. Wherever possible comparative data have also been given. We believe that the book will create interest and encourage scholars, policy makers and others to study and know more about Canada and help in strengthening the Indo-Canadian relationship. We hope the readers will find it useful and interesting.
