Strong Case Has Been Made Out For Regional Planning In Recent Years. Agricultural Planning Is An Important Part Of The National Planning Of A Country. The Present Book Deals With The Problems Of Regional Planning And Manpower Planning In The Context Of Both India And Nepal. It Is Because Of The Lack Of Spatial Planning That The Social And Economic Structure Of The Country Is Still Not Motivated Towards Rapid Economic Change In Some Regions. The Result Is That We Find Unbalanced Development In The Country. The Various Indicators Of Inter-State Disparities And The Extent Of Regional Imbalance Prevailing In The Economy Have Been Analysed In This Book. Professor D.N. Jha (b. 1935) graduated from the Patna University and obtained the Master’s degree in Economics in 1959. He got MDPA from IIPA, New Delhi and obtained a Senior Research Fellowship from I.S.P.A., New Delhi. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Patna University. He was a Colombo Plan Reader in Kathmandu, Nepal sponsored by the Govt. of India. His book Planning and Agricultural Development was published in 1974. His project work “Techno-Economic Survey of Telephone Exchanges Built by Indian Govt,” has been published by the Indian Co-operation Mission, Nepal. Prof. Jha had been a member of the Executive Committee of the I.E.A. for three years and is currently a member of the IIPA. He was a member of the Senate of the Bhagalpur University and also a member of Courses of Studies Board of Bhagalpur University. He has published a large number of articles in professional journals. He has successfully guided a large number of Research Fellows and is currently engaged in teaching Agricultural and Regional Planning to P.G. Students in the Bhagalpur University.
