Dr. Mohinder Kumar Slariya (b.1970) is working as Associate Professor of Sociology in the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh and presently posted at Govt. College, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. He is serving the department since 1997. He has been fellow of Finnish Science Academy (2011-2015). His major research interests are human dimensions of development, environment, climate change, food security, tribal studies and moreover to make sociology most acceptable and objective science of society. He is contributing syllabus books for the students of sociology of Himachal Pradesh, Dibrugarh, Gauhati, Itanagar and Nagaland universities.

Dr. Slariya acted as guide and co-guide of doctoral students in India and abroad. He has also worked as international team in University of Turku, University of Belgium and Asia Climate Education Centre, Jeju, South Korea and also facilitate World Bank on RR issues.

He has participated in 10 international conferences abroad 25 national and international conferences/seminars in India and contributed in different capacities from presenter, session chair, session organiser and panelist in different countries and published more than 20 research papers, 40 books (32 National and 8 internationals) organized 5 conferences, and competed 3 UGC sponsored research projects and 3 international projects abroad.

Dr. Slariya, is founding General Secretary of Sociological Society, Himachal Pradesh, has been General Secretary of North-west Indian Sociological Association-2018-2020 (NIWSA), life member of International Sociological Association, Indian Sociological Society, North Western Indian Sociological Association, Social Science and Humanities Association, Sociological Society, Himachal Pradesh.
