Sumedha Naswa (b. 1957) had been associated with Anthropological Survey of India for more than 21 years. Educated at Chandigarh, Delhi and Dehradun, she holds a masters degree in Sociology, Diploma in Library Science, Rural Development and certificate in Environmental Studies. She has contributed some articles in various journals of national repute, both in English and Hindi. Her literary pieces of stories, poems, articles etc. have been published in reputed magazines and dailies. She has also given talks on All India Radio. She is a life member of AISLIC, AGLIS and UPLA. Besides these her main contributions include: Bibliography on Andaman and Nicobar Islands. (1981); Bibliography on Himalayas (1990; Tribes of Andaman and Nicobar Islands (1999); Profiles of Rural Himalayas (1999). Her forthcoming work is on Tribals of Gujarat.
