Tradition, Identity and Socio-Cultural Change in North-East India

This book contains 14 research papers presented in the National Seminar on ‘Contemporary Issues in North East India: Problems and Opportunities, held on 9th – 10th July, 2025, organized by the Government. Aizawl College as part of the Golden Jubilee celebration programmes. The chapters included in this volume reflect the dynamism andof contemporary social issues. From reflections on ethical lessons drawn from Manipur’s unrest, to the tensions Mizo youth feel between tradition and modernity, explorations of religious and cultural identity, voices of women and persons with disabilities, studies on migration and governance, to evolving attitudes towards technology, education, marriage, and public transport of the region.
