The Thangal Naga Tribe of North East India

The Thangal Naga Tribe of North East India

Regular price Rs. 750.00

This is an ethnographic account of a particular tribe, the Thangal, but with a little difference from the earlier ones because of the fact that this book contains the factual accounts given by an author, who himself is a Thangal. The author strives to expose in the best possible way the most realistic picture of the people both in the traditional as well as modern settings. The necessity of such a work has been long felt primarily due to the fact that no full-length ethnographic study on this tribe has been attempted earlier. The book has eleven chapters dealing with various aspects including the geographical aspects, the people, demography, the Thangal as a Naga, its society, village administration, economy, folk tradition and so on. This book will be of great help for those who want to have a peep into the life, culture and way of life of the people who live in the remote north-eastern part of India.
