The research book covered the  entire state of Mizoram consisting of 190 towns, villages and localities inside Mizoram. The core base of the study comprised of all registered infantdeaths and of the same age live births in Mizoram between theperiod of 1st April 2015- 31st August 2016 to better comprehend the issue of  infant mortality within the state. Similarly, it also included all maternal deaths during the same period covering high priority districts. Analysis were also made from verbal autopsies of 1315 cases, including 343 infant deaths, 17 maternal deaths and 955 control samples. This study provides evidence based solutions to curb IMR in the state. This study was conducted by a Research Team comprised of 6 Doctors, 1 Research Scholar and 13 Research Assistants.
