Production and Marketing of Apples in Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh is endowed with a favourable agro climatic condition for producing all types of horticultural crops. Commercial production of horticulture crops has recently started in the State and is at its nascent stage.This book is expected to provide a valuable insight into the field of horticulture development in Arunachal Pradesh. The book deals with the production of the various horticulture crops in the State and apple production in particular. West Kameng district is the largest commercial producer of apple in the State. The book contains a detail analysis of the production, productivity and marketing of apples in the State. An attempt is also made to study the socio economic profile of the apple farmers and the problems of apples production in the State. A comparative analysis of the production, productivity and marketing structure of apples of Arunachal Pradesh with the other apple producing States of India is also done. On the basis of the findings, the study also highlighted the policy implications to improve the apple production in the State.

Dr. Sangey Tsomu did her M A in Economics and Ph.D in Economics from Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar. She is currently working as Assistant Professor in Economics at Dorjee Khandu Government College, Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. She has teaching experience of more than ten years. She has to her credit a number of research articles published in various national and international journals.
