The book ‘North East India: Issues and Concerns’ provides a well designed note of various issues of the North Eastern States (NESs), comprising of eight states: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim. It is a compilation of eleven essays, including the introductory one, which focused on Sustainable development goals and NESs, issues of tribal population, underweight, wasting and stunting of children less than 5 years of age, child sex ratio and the missing girls of the region. It includes a wide range of topics covering from poor educational attainment of minorities and women empowerment to the status of infrastructure development. The book also touched about the scope of micro, small and medium enterprises and the achievements of SSA in a hill district of Assam. It shows how these issues are affecting the pace of development of the NESs. Overall, the book displays the experiences of the author in a long academic journey which would certainly benefit the readers in a big way.
