The present volume alms at charting out a profile of Kashmir?s ecology and environment. Nature has endowed the vale of Kashmir with an abundance of fertile soil, rainfall, and sunlight. It is a humble beginning and hoped that it will prove very useful to the readers who care for the environment and ecology of Kashmir.
Dr. S.K. Chadha is a known scholar in the field of earth science. Having done his Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Jammu, has been associated with teaching science 1960. He has a vast field experience and has widely traveled in the country. He has written about 13 books on various aspects of sedi-mentology, Geology and Physiography of Jammu and Kashmir State. He has contributed several scientific articles in the leading journals of the country and delivered many radio talks. Dr. Chadha is presently engaged in the research of ecology and environment of Kashmir.
