Industrialisation in North-Eastern Region

The diagnosis on different issues relating to industrialisation during the reform regime becomes significant in the industrially backward north-eastern region. The book attempts to diagnose different aspects and issues of industrial development of north-eastern region. It is a collection of research papers, contributed by eminent scholars from different institutions and universities. The papers examine the relevance of various industries for fostering the economic development of the region. The book is expected to be an important contribution to the scanty literature on industrialization in the region. It will be useful to students, teachers, professionals, policy makers and research scholars interested in the subject.

Jaynal Uddin Ahmed (b.1974) did his M.Com. From Assam (Central) University, Silchar and  obtained Ph.D. in Business Administration from the same University. Dr. Ahmed has also secured a Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.). He is currently working as a Reader in the Department of Management Studies, North-Eastern Hill University, Tura Campus Meghalaya. He has published twenty-five research papers in referred academic journals and authored three books : Public Sector Banks in India; Impact of Financial Sector Reforms, Business Environment with Special Reference to North-Eastern Region and An Introduction to Man and Environment. He has also attended and presented papers in many national and international seminars and conferences. He is actively involved in various socio-economic and is at present, engaged in research projects.
