Human Rights and Social Security in North-East India

The book is academic in its presentation and content which discourses the various regional issues of Northeast India focusing primarily on human rights, social and human security. Various scholars in their effort to highlight and investigate the issues they not only investigate and examine but also argues and points out the ways, means and reasons  to ends the prolonged conflicts in the region which is counterproductive in nature makes the whole deliberations in this volume synthetically holistic and constructive. The issues of the Armed Forces (Special Power) Act, 1958 and its human rights violation, people’s movement, role of actors in armed conflict, the impact of insurgency in economic development, general developmental approach in the region and issues of marginalization, migration, identity and ethnic conflict, peace process, making and initiative, etc, discussed here draws the attention of policy- makers to changes their lens.

George T. Haokip (b. 1980) academician and social activist who so far has publishes numbers of papers in reputed national and international journals, websites and magazines besides presenting papers in various seminars and conferences at the national and international level. Author and editor, he has already produce four books on various issues of importance. He is the Associate Editor of SKWC Journal of Social Sciences (ISSN: 2278-2737) and member, Indian Political Science Association (IPSA).
