Environmental Sustainability and Entrepreneurship Issues and Imperatives

This book is a scholarly compilation of research articles on Environment, Sustainability and entrepreneurship The articles have been selected after review from referees from a large number of articles presented at the International Conference on Environment, Social and Governance Issues, Imperatives and Contemporary Business Perspectives organised by the Department of Commerce, University of North Bengal in March 2024. The articles deal with ESG reporting, ESRM framework, virtual water trade, GHG scoring, water management, waste management, CSR expenditure, rural tourism, entrepreneurship from floral waste, production of Makhana, Handicrafts by SHGs, pineapple production and agrifresh foods. As most the research articles are based on primary and secondary data and analysed through sophisticated statistical techniques like structural equation modelling, the book showcases the systems and techniques of executing good research. The book will be useful for research scholars, teachers guiding research in universities, colleges and institutions and students who prepare projects as a part of their post graduate programmes in Commerce and Management.

The Chief Editor, Prof. Samirendra Nath Dhar, M.Com, M.B.A, Ph.D, is a senior most professor in the Department of Commerce, University of North Bengal and has more than 38 years of teaching and research experience. He has six research based books, notable among which are ‘Microfinance for Women’, ‘Microfinance Concepts, Systems, Perceptions and Impact, and ‘Money and Microenterprises in Bhutan’. He has published more than seventy articles in national and international journals with international indexations. He has been a key-note speaker and technical session chairperson in more than 150 national and international conferences in India and abroad. The co-editors Prof. Dipen Roy M.Com, MBA, Ph.D., Dr. Joy Sarkar M.Com, Ph.D, Dr. Gangotree Ghosh M.Com, Ph.D, Dr. Soumitra Sarkar M.Com, MBA Ph.D, Saraswati Lama M.Com, and Dr. Jamaluddin M.Com, Ph.D are faculty members of the Department of Commerce, North Bengal University . They have teaching experiences ranging from 25 years to 7 years and have published in national and international journals and presented a large number of papers in national and international conferences.
