Encyclopaedia of Sports, Health, and Physical Education (5 Volumes)

Physical education has emerged as a fulfledged discipline and for making the students aware of the role of knowledge and skills of physical education and for making their lives happier and healthier, the subject of physical and health education needs to be made an important part of the school and college curriculum. Keeping this purpose in view enough material on sports, physical and health education has been compiled and collated in these five volumes. The ?History and Principles: Organisation and Administration: Sports and Recreation: Elementary Schools; and Secondary Schools? is the volume-wise organisation of the series, respectively. It is hoped that this comprehensive set of five volumes will fulfil a long felt need of the literature in the field of health and physical education in India.

Dr. Sita Ram Sharma has been a UNESCO scholar and a Colombo Plan scholar. He holds Master’s degree in Economics. Education and Hindi besides his Ph.D. in Education. A prolific writer, he has authored a score of books so far. His fields of specialisation are history of education, teacher training, primary and adule education. His recent books, viz. Panchayati Raj and education in India. (2 Vols.), Municipal Administration and Education (2 Vols.), and Vocational Education and Training (3 Vols.) (all published by Mittal Publications) were widely acclaimed.
