This volume is based upon the National Conference on Electrical and Optical Properties of Soclids held at the Department of Physics, Dr. H.S. Gour Vishwavidyalaya (formerly known as Saugar University) Sagar, M.P., India during March 26-28, 1987, it consists of the invited talks and contributed papers presented at the Conference by expert in the field and research workers from all over India on various aspects of Electrical and Optical Properties of Solids. Due to wider scope of the Conference covering the experimental, theoretical and instrumental aspects, the contents are of sufficient interest not only to the research workers and new-comers to the field but also to the material scientists and engineers concerned with Electrical and Optical behaviour of Solids. It is hoped that this volume will help in the endeavours of the researchers to the better understanding of the phenomena and reorientation of the research in these fields.
