About the Book
The book tries to explore major socio-legal aspects of human trafficking in India and Nepal by critically examining the nature and role of existing Laws of both the countries. It also looks into the reasons behind the lack and failure of legal institutions and mechanisms to prevent human trafficking in the region. The book further examines the problems which are hindering the implementation of the existing laws against human trafficking. Lastly, the book suggests some new measures or ways to strengthen legal frameworks and institutions to address human trafficking between India and Nepal.
About the Author
Dr. Romana Lepcha (b.1985) is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Salesian College Sonada, Darjeeling, West Bengal. She completed her Ph.D from the Department of International Relations, Sikkim University in 2017. She has also completed her M Phil in 2012 from the same institution. Her M Phil topic was “Human Trafficking and Civil Society in South Asia: A Case Study of Maiti Nepal”. She has Masters Degree in International Relations and Political Science.
