To bring quality improvement in the life of the poor consisting of small farmers, marginal farmers, rural artisans etc., Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP) was chosen. The present book analyses the role of cooperatives in financing IRDP scheme, economic impact of IRDP on the rural poor and the main problems and prospects in effective implementation of Integrated Rural Development Programme. The present study is the outcome of the findings of micro-level field study. Beneficiaries who received financial assistance under IRDP were interviewed with the help of a well designed questionnaires. A thought provoking discussions were held with the staff members for effective implementation of IRD schemes and increasing the share of cooperatives under IRDP. The book also goves a deeper insight in regard to various facets of IRDP. It serves a better cause for those who are directly or indirectly involved in IRDP.
