Regular price Rs. 1,100.00

This book explores the role of the Church in the socio-political dynamics of Mizoram. The influence of the Church in the emergence of a modern democratic Mizoram and its subsequent contribution to the socio-political process has multiple implications like electoral reform, social reform, administrative reform, educational reform, and socio-economic change. The Church plays a predominant role in the political dimension of the people of Mizoram, overtly and covertly, local political parties hardly take on the Church or its affiliated civil society organizations in the state. Rather, local parties seem to be swayed to the tunes of some civil society organizations, at times. The role of the Church in guiding, reforming, and impacting the political system to constructively enforce constitutional provisions in accordance with Christian ethics and virtues from the era of the District Council which continued in the Union Territory to the present day is objectively and academically deliberated in this book.
