Exploring Conventions of Statistical Discourse aims to integrate several aspects of statistical science and its wide range of applications in real life situation. The field of statistics is witnessing a major upsurge in theory and research, development of statistical software and deployment of applications. Exploring Conventions of Statistical Discourse aims to address questions surrounding this powerful and growing field of Statistics and data analysis and facilitates the efforts of researchers of statistics, data scientists, academics, analysts and professionals to improve the theory and techniques of Statistical Sciences. Spanning a broad array of disciplines focusing on novel statistical analysis has become a ubiquitous term in understanding and solving complex problems in different disciplinary fields such as engineering, social networks, education, applied mathematics, social science, physical science, medicine, computational biology, healthcare, finance, business, government, telecommunications and transportation. The best way to capture the current research activity and to set the perspectives and challenges in the field of Statistics is by selecting high quality work from different researchers, in the form of chapters of a book and the book entitled ‘Exploring Conventions of Statistical Discourse’ goals to provide a vehicle for disseminating the latest research, applications, knowledge and more in one place related to statistical science.

Dr. Ranjana Gogoi (b.1963), completed her M.Sc. in Statistics and acquired Ph.D. in Regression Analysis from Dibrugarh University.Currently working as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Statistics, Gargaon College, Simaluguri, Assam. Dr. Gogoi has almost thirty years of teaching experiences with number of research papers published in reputed journals. She has completed UGC sponsored Minor and Major Research Projects as Principal Investigator.

Ms Bornali Dutta (b. 1993), completed her M. Sc in Statistics from Dibrugarh University and currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics, Gargaon College. She has almost five years of teaching experience and also published more than 10 research papers in reputed journals. Her area of research is Bayesian Inference, Time Series Analysis and Epidemiology.
